Harry Potter Touring Exhibition
The Exhibition required a technology architecture capable of bringing a massive, multi-room wizarding world to life across a highly dynamic international tour. We engineered the dynamic display infrastructure, spatial soundscapes, and tracking networks required to turn visitors into active participants. By testing every creative ambition against real-world transport constraints, we delivered an operationally lean system that protects narrative authenticity across multiple international venues while driving long-term installation efficiencies.

Balancing Legendary Creative Ambition With Severe Operational Transit Constraints
The brief presented a distinct operational challenge: translate a globally adored narrative into a visually spectacular, highly interactive multi-room exhibition while ensuring the entire infrastructure could easily pack down, travel, and reassemble across multiple international venues. For an IP of this scale, narrative authenticity is everything. Superfans expect an authentic connection to the stories they hold dear, which means the integrated technology must never feel artificial or distracting. However, touring entertainment demands rigorous physical constraint management. Every extra kilogram adds to the baseline transit costs, and every overly complex terminal connection introduces potential points of failure on a busy weekend operation.
Engineering Invisible Interactive Networks In Service Of The Story
Our solution focused on embedding custom technology directly into the scenic setworks, ensuring every electronic element remained entirely subordinate to the narrative experience. On entry, visitors receive custom wristbands to register personal details, instantly rendering their live movements onto a large-scale display mimicking the iconic Marauder’s Map. Across twenty themed rooms, these wristbands interact with standalone stations and touchscreens, enabling users to cast spells, brew potions, and log live achievements. Rather than deploying rigid, separate cable runs for every endpoint, we engineered a unified software routing matrix. Cinematic projection and spatial audio soundscapes animate the environments, while a simplified master operator interface allows non-technical local venue teams to execute a full system reboot in under four minutes without consulting a manual.
International Box Office Records Validate Structural System Reliability
The infrastructure has maintained absolute operational reliability across a widespread global itinerary spanning four continents, drawing over four million visitors since its inaugural launch. By staging rigorous off-site commissioning phases before any hardware touched the physical venues, we eliminated deployment friction and significantly decreased standard installation timelines over the long term tour. This disciplined engineering foundation successfully handled unprecedented scale, including over 611,000 visitors in a single Paris run and a record breaking 339,000 admissions in Sydney. Operational data confirms our adaptive software architecture minimised routine maintenance overheads and logistical costs across major global hubs like Tokyo and Madrid, completely insulating millions of fans from technical failure.
